Starting and running a business is one of the hardest things you’ll ever do. I know because I’ve done it. A couple of times...
Over the years, I’ve worked in restaurant management, owned and operated a retail store, helped build brands, and now lead operations for one of the largest industrial powder coating companies in the region.
Throughout that journey, one thing has always stayed the same: I’ve loved building things, solving problems, and helping businesses grow.
For more than a decade, I’ve been designing websites, creating professional photography and video content, and helping businesses establish a strong online presence. Whether it was for my own businesses or for someone else’s, I found myself drawn to the creative side of entrepreneurship just as much as the operational side.
The more businesses I worked with, the more I noticed the same problem.
Small businesses often have incredible products, amazing service, and owners who genuinely care about their customers, but they struggle to compete online. Not because they aren’t good enough, but because professional website design, SEO, photography, and digital marketing are often priced far beyond what a growing business can reasonably afford.
I’ve seen business owners receive website quotes for tens of thousands of dollars before they ever had their first customer through the door. For a new or growing business, that simply isn’t realistic.
That’s where Direct Design came from.
I realized there was a huge gap in the market. There are plenty of talented agencies doing great work, but many small businesses don’t need a large agency with account managers, sales teams, five graphic designers, expensive office space, and layers of overhead. Those costs eventually get passed on to the client.
By keeping Direct Design small and working directly with every client myself, I can focus on what matters most: building professional websites, creating high-quality content, and helping businesses grow without charging agency prices.
My goal has never been to become the biggest agency around.
My goal is to help as many businesses as possible look professional online, build trust with their customers, and compete with companies much larger than themselves.
